Breaking! The world's largest energy storage power station is on fire again! It is urgent to address the issue of "explosive temper" of batteries from the source.
According to reports from The Paper and Sina Finance, a fire broke out on the afternoon of January 16, 2025, at the world's largest battery storage power station currently operating in California, USA. The fire spread rapidly, producing thick black smoke, and 1,500 people were urgently evacuated. The cause of the incident is still unknown. All personnel on site have safely evacuated, and no injuries have been reported so far.

Notably, the Draft Action Plan explicitly states that new electrochemical energy storage technologies, such as aqueous zinc-ion batteries, will be included in the forward-looking development fields, promoting the research and industrialization breakthroughs of energy storage technologies such as thermal storage and cold storage.
